Scout Pest Control is a fast-growing pest control company serving the Huntsville/Madison/Athens/Decatur areas and we are seeking a passionate, cheerful, and dedicated Termite Technician to take part in our success. We provide our customers with an excellent, reliable, and effective Termite Control experience. We need a Termite Technician who is a great worker with an eye to detail, excellent at managing relationships and communicating with customers and staff, able to document and graph well, and a friendly positive attitude. Sales skills are a plus! Termite Technicians primary duties are: Servicing homes and businesses safely, efficiently, and thoroughly to control wood destroying organisms including termites; Driving safely to and from job-sites; Inspecting homes and businesses for Termite, WDO and Pest activity; Documenting product applications and inspection results using our CRM tools; Communicating and building relationships with customers to explain service and set proper expectations; Assisting pest techs in servicing pest control accounts as needed; Other duties as assigned.


To be successful in this role, you will need to be hard working, organized, efficient, detail oriented, friendly, and an effective communicator. You will be interacting with our customers daily and having a friendly, patient, and respectful behavior is a must as you are representing our company.


The job requires a good driving history, the ability to pass a background check and drug testing, good customer service skills, and attention to detail. We typically work Monday through Friday, with Saturdays being required on occasion. No Sundays. Any potential candidate will be required to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and be able to handle the physical rigors of installing baiting systems, traversing crawlspaces, and performing liquid termite treatments.


Our techs have the opportunity to earn production commissions, sales commissions, and bonuses. We offer insurance benefits including Health Care, Vision, Dental, and Life insurance. We also look first to promote from within and we look for candidates who can fill future leadership roles.


Essential Job Functions:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Services all customers on his/her route each day.
  • Ensures the service given is the highest quality service possible.
  • Cross Trains to be knowledgable on General Pest, Mosquito, Bed Bug, Termite, Fungus, Powder Post Beetles, and Rodent Control.
  • Work towards getting state licensing in or is licensed for:
    • Household Pest Control
    • Termite Control
    • Pay is increased as licensing is obtained.
  • Communicates effectively with:
    • Headquarters (home office)
    • Teammates
    • Lead Techs
    • Service manager
  • Sets appropriate expectations with customers.
  • Ensures thoroughness on inspections and service.
  • Keeps company truck well maintained, clean, and fully stocked.
  • Upsells additional services as appropriate.
  • Seeks and receives as many five-star reviews as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must familiarize him/herself with the Companys systems and processes.
  • Knowledgable on Termite Control methods, rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to bend, twist, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, and lift 40 pounds regularly.
  • Able to assess crawl spaces.
  • Traverse uneven ground.
