Pest Control Field Technician Intern Learn the Business from the Ground Up Mosquito Authority & Pest Authority | Shelbyville, IN | Part-Time or Full-Time | Seasonal

Are you interested in entrepreneurship, small business operations, or the green/outdoor industry? This isn't your typical desk internship. You'll spend time in the field doing real work and alongside it, get direct access to a franchise owner who will invest in your growth beyond the job itself.
What You'll Actually Do:

You'll serve as a Mosquito & Pest Control Technician, applying our Barrier 360 treatments, Mosquito Barrier treatments and other add ons to residential and commercial properties using proven products and equipment. That means working outdoors, driving a company vehicle to client sites, carrying backpack sprayers (up to 60 lbs), and delivering the kind of service that earns 5-star reviews.
This role is physical. You'll be on your feet across multiple properties each day, in Indiana heat and humidity, navigating yards and uneven terrain. We'll be upfront: it's hard work. But if you can handle that, here's what else you'll walk away with.
What You'll Learn:

Beyond the field work, the business owner will personally share:
  • Small Business Operations How an independent franchise is run day-to-day, including scheduling, customer management, and using tools like FieldRoutes CRM
  • Government Regulation & Compliance How pesticide licensing works in Indiana, OSHA requirements, and navigating state regulations as a small business
  • Marketing Strategy Real-world tactics for seasonal service businesses, including social media, local advertising, and customer retention
  • Sales & Revenue Growth How to upsell services, acquire new customers, and increase revenue per route
This is hands-on mentorship from someone who has built a 9-year specialized pest control business in the Indianapolis metro as well as rural areas. If you're curious about how small businesses actually work from the field to the finances you'll get a genuine behind-the-scenes look.
You're a Great Fit If You:

  • Love working outdoors and don't mind physical labor
  • Are a self-starter who can work independently
  • Want real-world business exposure, not just coffee runs
  • Are genuinely curious about entrepreneurship, operations, or environmental services
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean record
Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with clean record
  • Ability to perform physical duties (standing, carrying, climbing, etc.)
  • No prior pest control experience required we provide full paid training
What You Get:

  • $17$25/hr depending on experience
  • Paid training + licensing support
  • Performance bonuses
  • Free uniforms
  • Direct mentorship and business education from the owner
  • Flexible scheduling with work/life balance
  • Free treatment of your own home if allowed
