Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the operating excellence of Racetrack surface
  • Uphold standards and practices that support the comprehensive safety and integrity of horseracing
  • Operating and maintaining all equipment/tools/materials necessary to prepare surface for training and racing
  • Complying with company, local, state and federal regulations

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must be able to operate and maintain equipment (tractors, loaders, graders, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have 1-2 years previous track maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. 

  

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required. Multilingual preferred.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations, including the Ohio State Racing commission. Must have knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements.
