Personal Training Intern information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Personal Training Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Personal Training Intern, you need a solid understanding of exercise science, basic fitness principles, and often a relevant degree or coursework in kinesiology or sports science. Familiarity with fitness assessment tools, gym equipment, and CPR/AED certification is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, motivation, and the ability to communicate instructions clearly help interns effectively support and inspire clients. These competencies ensure safe, engaging training sessions and lay the groundwork for building strong client relationships and professional growth.

What are personal training interns?

Personal training interns are individuals who are gaining hands-on experience in the fitness industry by working under the supervision of certified personal trainers. They assist with client assessments, develop exercise programs, and help lead training sessions while learning about proper exercise technique and client safety.
