Job description

This go-getter is too big to be a toddler and not quite ready for preschool, he's an active, curious 2 1/2 year old who needs your help to get these done:
1. Play with trucks.
2. Potty train.
3. Play with trains.
4. Practice learning shapes.
5. Play in pool (with floaties).
While these aren't the only things that you'll be responsible for, these are important in this boy's world. Be sure to bring your energy and creativity to keep him engaged while keeping him safe. You know how detrimental watching too much passive video watching can be at this age so try to keep him away from electronics and instead engage him with sensory play.
Occasionally you'll also have the company of his older 4-year old sister who is mostly busy with her own life but can add a little variety to activities.
A nice little park and playground is within walking distance so generally there's little driving required. However, if there is a need to drive, the family car may be available to you.
You'll work with the parents (who usually work from home) to help organize and make progress for this fast-developing young boy. The family has a schedule already for you to step in a take ownership, although through your observational skill and resourcefulness, it can be adjusted as needed.
The best part of working with kids is that for a few hours a day you can leave the grown-up realm behind and help make kids' world expand. You can certainly do that with this family. We also want to see healthy strong kids so we'd like you to live a healthy lifestyle and follow recommended Covid prevention strategies.
Preferred schedule is 4 or 5 weekdays, from about 8am to about 3pm about 30 to 35 hours a week. If your schedule doesn't quite match, they are willing to be flexible to meet your availability.
Employment is through College Nannies + Sitters, North Scottsdale. Plus, we have opportunities to work with other families for additional hours each week. We only provide care for HEALTHY FAMILIES AND IF YOU ARE COVID SYMPTOM FREE. Everyone we hire is careful, so WE HAVE NEVER had a case of COVID transmitted between family and nanny.
After phone screen and references checked, the first interview is virtual. Onboarding orientation is in-person.
Location: Shea Blvd and 132nd St, Scottsdale 85259
Schedule: Four or five days a week, 8am to about 3pm (flexible hours).
Start: OCT 4th
Pay: $17.00/hr. We are a legal W2 employer.
For you:
  • Coaching, guidance, and supportive, responsive management
  • Reliable Direct Deposit pay
  • Paid sick days
  • Situational Awareness Training for your safety and the family
  • Chance to develop solid relationships and references

Qualifications:
  • Access to safe, reliable transportation and a good driving record.
  • Active mindset and strong enough to interact and lead.
  • At least 2 non-family references (including babysitting) related to working with children, paid or unpaid, add to your application under "Summarize your childcare/role modeling experience"
  • Ability to pass extensive background check.
