Familiarity with legal research platforms like Westlaw or LexisNexis, case management software, and e-filing systems is typically required. What does a personal injury associate attorney do?

A Personal Injury Associate Attorney represents clients who have been injured due to accidents or negligence, such as car accidents, slip and falls, or medical malpractice. They handle legal tasks like investigating claims, negotiating with insurance companies, drafting legal documents, and advocating for clients in court. Their primary goal is to help clients obtain compensation for their injuries, medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Personal Injury Associate Attorneys work under the supervision of more senior attorneys within a law firm and may assist in trial preparation, legal research, and client meetings.

What are some of the most common challenges faced by personal injury associate attorneys in their daily work?

Personal Injury Associate Attorneys often face the challenge of managing a high caseload while ensuring each client receives attentive and thorough representation. Balancing the demands of case preparation, client communication, and court deadlines requires strong organizational skills and resilience. Additionally, they must be adept at negotiating settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel. Working effectively as part of a legal team and collaborating with paralegals, investigators, and senior attorneys is also essential for success in this dynamic field.

The NC Eminent Domain Law Firm is seeking a driven individual with a high focus on providing excellent customer service to potential clients who reach out to our firm daily for legal assistance. Our firm culture is unique, and our standards are high - if the following description resonates, we'd like to hear from you.
About the Firm:
Providing excellent legal service to our clients is our calling. As one of the state's largest personal injury law firms, we have the experience and resources to fight the good fight. Forty percent of our team has been with us for more than five years. Eminent Domain is our newest practice area created in 2013, and already we are looking to expand the business once more. Many exciting things are on the horizon, and we hope you'll consider joining us.

Providing excellent legal service to our clients is our calling. We handle claims across the entire state of North Carolina, and we believe we have the ability and responsibility to make a difference for regular people facing disruption from government construction. We're in the unique situation of having a firm that practices eminent domain exclusively, yet we are under the umbrella of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, one of the largest firms in the Southeast. We are excited to put our skills, resources, and experience to work for our clients each day and we hope you are too!
What The Day Looks Like:

  • Providing initial contact with the client and gathering pertinent documentation that will be required throughout the case.
  • Communicating with right of way agents in acquiring documents, offers, appraisals, and project/filing timelines.
  • Coordinating conferences between the client and attorneys to review cases and offers.
  • Providing excellent service for our clients - this includes everything from being the first point of contact if they have any questions, helping them schedule inspections and other meetings, and providing updates on their case.
  • Tracking cases and moving them forward in the process as they progress
  • Admin tasks such as filing/scanning documents, tracking projects, and maintaining files
Exceeding the expectations of clients and ourselves

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Ideally has real estate, legal, or related experience
  • Is computer savvy and enjoys learning new software
  • Is detail oriented and can find their way around Microsoft Excel efficiently
  • Possesses the organizational skills required to maintain a high level of accuracy
