Because of the requirements of these programs, I am not able to receive daily overtime while working in this position.

  • Personal attendant duties include feeding, bathing, dressing, and direct supervision of any person under care.
  • Nonattendant duties include making beds, housecleaning, cooking, laundry, or other duties related to the maintenance of a private household or the premises. Nonattendant duties should be primarily conducted with the assistance of the person under care. Your responsibility is to assist the person under care in performing these duties themselves. You should be able to enjoy one ten-minute uninterrupted, duty-free rest period in the first and second half of your shift. If you are not regularly able to do so, you must notify your supervisor.

Likewise, you should be able to enjoy an on-premises, duty-free meal period of at least 30 minutes. If you are unable to do so, you must notify your supervisor. Employees must not leave the customer’s premises during their meal or rest periods and must be able to provide immediate assistance to the customer if necessary.
