Job Title: Environmental Permitting Engineer/Permitting Engineer/Electrical Engineer/EHS Permitting Engineer/Environment Permitting Engineer/Professional Engineer


Duration: 12 Months (High Possibility of Extension)


Location:  Chandler, AZ 85224

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an Environmental Permitting Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing projects in Chandler, AZ. The ideal candidate will lead environmental permitting activities, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and ensure all permits and approvals are obtained to support successful project execution from planning through startup.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project permitting strategies, schedules, and permit tracking matrices.
  • Coordinate permitting activities with clients, engineering teams, construction, ES&H, contractors, and consultants.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and regulatory agencies.
  • Support permit reviews, inspections, approvals, and project closeout activities.
  • Monitor permitting progress and proactively identify regulatory risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permit conditions.
  • Maintain accurate permitting documentation, reports, and compliance records

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience (or 9–12 years of equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience managing environmental and construction permitting for semiconductor or large industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and coordination with regulatory agencies.

Additional Information:

  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant environmental certification, along with prior Arizona semiconductor project experience.
