Operations amp; Temporary Structure Specialist
Department: F1, Event Operations
Status: Full-time
Summary:
The Formula 1 Hard Rock Miami Grand Prix has rapidly established itself as one of the premier sporting and entertainment events in the world. The Event Operations team is responsible for the planning, procurement, execution, and implementation of venue overlay, temporary structures, tents, infrastructure, and major site assets that transform Hard Rock Stadium into a world-class event destination.
The Operations amp; Temporary Structure Specialist will serve as a key member of the Event Operations team, overseeing the coordination, planning, and execution of temporarily built environments across the event site. This role works closely with overlay designers, structure and tent suppliers, internal departments, and external partners to ensure all temporary facilities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design intent, operational requirements, and permitting standards.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of temporary structures, construction coordination, life safety requirements, building systems, and vendor management. This individual will bridge the gap between design, operations, permitting, and execution to ensure the successful delivery of premium guest, hospitality, operational, and back-of-house environments.
Location:
  • This is a full-time position based on site at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL
Responsibilities:
Structure amp; Supplier Coordination
  • Coordinate the planning, review, and execution of temporary structure and tent installations throughout the event site
  • Ensure all temporary structure drawings, engineering packages, and supplier deliverables are received, reviewed, and executed according to project schedules
  • Partner with structure and tent vendors to develop turnkey solutions that minimize field conflicts and support efficient construction timelines
  • Coordinate building systems integration, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, low-voltage, IT, and other temporary infrastructure requirements
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of master plans, site layouts, and built environment documentation using AutoCAD and other design software
Internal Stakeholder Coordination
  • Serve as the primary coordination point between Event Operations and internal departments including Food amp; Beverage, Partnerships, Entertainment, Luxury amp; Hospitality, Fan Experience, Security, IT, and Private Clients
  • Review interior layouts, FF amp;E plans, and operational requirements to ensure compatibility with temporary structures and supporting infrastructure
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure design intent, operational needs, and project milestones remain aligned
  • Identify and proactively resolve design, logistics, and installation conflicts prior to construction
Permitting amp; Compliance
  • Support permitting efforts by coordinating documentation, drawings, and project information required for permit submissions
  • Collaborate with life-safety consultants, engineers, architects, and permitting authorities to ensure timely approvals
  • Review temporary facilities for compliance with applicable building codes, life safety requirements, occupancy limitations, and operational standards
  • Assist in maintaining accurate permit records, inspections, and compliance documentation
Construction amp; Event Execution
  • Support the Event Operations team during venue build, event operations, and breakdown periods
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to project schedules, safety requirements, quality standards, and approved designs
  • Coordinate with site operations teams on supporting infrastructure affecting built environments, including power distribution, plumbing, low-voltage systems, fencing, ground protection, and back-of-house operations
  • Act as a liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders to quickly resolve field issues while balancing budget, schedule, and operational impacts
  • Conduct site walks and inspections to verify quality control, design execution, and operational readiness
Qualifications:
  • Technical skills of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Bluebeam required
  • Proven experience developing and executing projects from concept through construction
  • Working knowledge of International Building Code (IBC), life-safety requirements, occupancy classifications, and egress planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with on-time design deliverables and deadlines met
  • Team-player, creative, solution-oriented, driven, and passionate
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, with higher demand from January โ€“ May, including weekends and evenings, depending on event needs
