Willdan is a Municipal Services Firm that has provided superior engineering, planning, building, and many other consulting services to government agencies for more than 60 years.

Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., has an opening for a Full-time ICC Permit Technician in San Fernando, CA. The Permit Technician will be responsible for permit counter work at a local municipality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Customer support at the counter and over the phone.
  • Permit application review to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Calculation of permit fees.
  • Building permit processing and issuance.
  • Ensure all conditions of approvals are met prior to permit issuance.
  • Public assistance in completing permit applications.
  • Verification that projects have obtained all necessary approvals prior to permit issuance.
  • Applicant notification when construction documents and/or permits are ready for pick-up or issuance.
  • Coordination and routing of construction documents to the appropriate staff for plan review and approval.
  • Resolution of resident inquires/complaints.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • ICC Certification and municipal experience (ICC Permit Technician).
  • Two (2) or more years of experience as a Permit Technician required.
  • Knowledge of various permitting software is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Jurisdiction industry experience.
