Job Title: Residential Licensed Plumber (Journeyman Level)
Salary: $40–$50/hour, plus commission and comprehensive benefits
Location: Redmond, WA
Job Type: Permanent Full Time
Join a stable, well-established residential plumbing contractor in Redmond, WA where your journeyman skills are valued and your craftsmanship is visible in every home you work on. This is a permanent role with consistent work, clear standards, and the opportunity to take ownership of projects from rough‑in to final trim‑out.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for delivering compliant, high-quality plumbing installations and repairs in occupied and new-build residential properties. Working independently or as part of a small crew, you will handle full-system work from water supply and DWV systems to water heaters, ensuring safety, reliability, and adherence to Washington State and local plumbing codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and modify residential water supply and distribution systems, including piping, valves, and fixtures.
  • Install, repair, and maintain drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) systems to meet code and performance standards.
  • Install, service, and replace tank and tankless water heaters, including associated gas, electrical, and venting connections as applicable.
  • Perform residential plumbing rough‑in and trim‑out on remodels, additions, and new construction projects.
  • Solder, braze, and join copper, PEX, PVC, and other piping materials using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing system failures, leaks, and performance issues, providing clear repair options.
  • Conduct pressure tests, inspections, and system checks to verify code compliance and proper operation.
  • Communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, and inspectors to explain work, coordinate schedules, and address questions or concerns.

Key Requirements:

  • Valid Washington State Residential Journeyman Plumber license (Active Washington State PL-02 Residential Plumber license required; PL-01 Journeyman license preferred).
  • Proven experience in residential plumbing service and installation, including occupied homes and new construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of Washington State and local plumbing codes and inspection requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans, schematics, and specifications for residential plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in plumbing, and safe work practices on job sites.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time on multiple jobs, and complete tasks to a high standard with minimal supervision.
  • Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with homeowners and coordinating with general contractors and inspectors.
  • Reliable transportation and readiness to work across the Redmond and surrounding area.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with high-efficiency and specialty water heater systems, including recirculation and filtration.
  • Background in remodel and renovation plumbing, including tie-ins to existing systems.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for job documentation, photos, and basic reporting.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices or assisting with training less experienced plumbers.
  • Comfort handling basic customer service tasks such as explaining estimates and scope of work.

Qualifications:

  • Washington State Residential Journeyman Plumber license required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Additional manufacturer training or certifications related to water heaters or plumbing products advantageous.

If you are a licensed residential journeyman plumber who takes pride in quality work and clear communication, apply now to secure a long-term role with consistent projects and strong standards.
