Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

In this role, you will operate single, tandem, or multi-axle trucks to transport agronomy and energy products, crop production inputs, equipment, and supplies to and from company and customer locations, ensuring timely, safe deliveries while adhering to specified schedules to support profitable business growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle while efficiently transporting crop production input and energy products and supplies to farms, retail locations, and warehouses.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment, including pre-trip safety checks, monitoring fluid levels, tires, and brakes, and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns while performing preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure the vehicle is consistently kept clean.
  • Safely load and unload containers, pallets, materials, and products onto trucks, trailers, and railcars using hand tools or forklifts. Secure cargo, arrange and balance distribution from front to back and side to side, check axle weights, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations during loading.
  • Load, transport, and unload agricultural equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in compliance with all state and federal regulations, including maintaining proper documentation and completing necessary inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling and transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Pick up and transport goods promptly while interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner. This promotes superior customer service and professionalism within the company and the industry and ensures customer satisfaction with delivery services.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading crop production input and energy products, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper storage.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, considering traffic, weather, and road conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and any incidents or delays encountered during transport.
  • Accurately complete, store, and submit all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices, returning them to the branch location at the end of the day to ensure timely processing and payment.
  • Maintain accurate driving and delivery logs, including logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned record-keeping tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

Educations and Experience

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in agronomy or energy transportation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and transportation of crop production input and energy products, including hazardous materials.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and agricultural equipment.
