Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA. Registered Nurse for 3 South- Acute Cardiac/Stroke UnitFull TimeDAY shift Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! Hours: 645 AM to 715 PM with rotating weekend schedule.

TheAcute Cardiac/Stroke Unit(3 South) at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, postcoronary interventions, postablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre and postcatheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke.

This 24bed unit cares for patients with higher acuity than a typical medicalsurgical unit. 3 South provides an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, highacuity environment. As part of a certified stroke center and a Magnetdesignated organization recognized for excellence in patient care, Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center offers a collaborative setting where nurses can thrive and advance their expertise in cardiac care.

Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Programs at Sentara:

Unique 6-Month Program Includes:

  • No separate application required, automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area.

  • General Nursing Orientation

  • Specialty Clinical Track Residency

  • Professional Development Sessions

  • Mentoring and Unit-based Preceptor

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program

  • BSN or MSN preferred.

  • Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Certification/Licensure

  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License

  • BLS within 90 days of hire.

  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire

  • NIHSS within 1 year of hire

Experience

  • Acute care nursing experience preferred

  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

  • None Required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
