Job description

Property Location: Donner Lofts 

Senior Community Manager of Permanent Supportive Housing 

The Senior Community Manager of Supportive Housing advances MidPen Housing's mission by leading site operations that promote stability, dignity, and longterm housing for residents experiencing housing instability and other complex needs. This role ensures fiscal, physical, and social integrity of the property while proactively solving sitespecific challenges, strengthening operating procedures, and aligning practices with organizational goals. Through traumainformed leadership, staff supervision, and close collaboration with service partners, the Senior Community Manager fosters safe, compliant, and welcoming communities that balance compassion with accountability and support resident wellbeing. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee rent collection, leasing, certifications, inspections, and HUD compliance. 
  • Supervise on-site staff and manage tenant relations, evictions, and budgeting tasks. 
  • Maintain secure records, process invoices, and ensure accurate documentation. 
  • Conduct property inspections, coordinate repairs, and manage vendor relations. 
  • Lead marketing efforts, including surveys, outreach, and resident engagement. 
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with safety and reporting standards. 
  • Implement OSHA and IIPP safety programs; ensure staff adherence to guidelines. 
  • Manage staff schedules, training, performance feedback, and team meetings. 

Qualifications 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Skilled in budgeting, variance reporting, problem-solving, and supervising diverse teams. 
  • Knowledgeable in HUD, ADA, DFEH, and other regulatory guidelines; ARM/COS certifications preferred. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication; maintains professionalism and sound judgment in all interactions. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and YARDI; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Must have a valid Real Estate license, reliable insured vehicle, and meet MidPen's driving requirements. 
  • Physically able to perform office tasks and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) 

Education and Experience 

  • High School diploma or GED 
  • Two continuous years or more of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing, or four years of unrelated General Manager experience 
  • Experience within Supportive Housing preferred 

PAY RANGE 

$36.81 - $41.41 Hourly - Pay based on applicable experience and qualificationsÂ
