Job description

At NorthBay Health the Board Certified, Licensed Primary Care Physician will practice in our highly regarded health system in Northern California. 

This position is a Full Time Float FM/IM Physician to support our growth, expansion and coverage in Primary Care throughout the region.

Our goal is to make health care easily accessible. We know that getting care when you need it is important to you so we offer same-day appointments and give you options for after-hours appointments for minor illnesses and injuries.

NorthBay Health is ideally located between the San Francisco Bay Area Region, Napa Valley and Sacramento. With an abundance of recreation and leisure options Northern California offers residents the landscape for healthy active living.

  • Location: Full time float, Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville, Napa or as needed throughout region 
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Inpatient/Outpatient Responsibilities:  Outpatient only
  • Call Ratio: Balanced call ratio split between physicians and sites
  • Daily Patient Census: 18 patients per day
  • Equipment/Resources: Access to state-of-the-art equipment and comprehensive resources
  • Provider Support: Collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment
  • Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition
  • Monitors lab results, medication adherence and medication toxicities
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccinations, and other medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
  • Explain and discuss procedures, test results, or prescribed treatment with the patient
  • Refers patients to medical specialists when necessary
  • Represents the practice at Hospital committees in such a manner that the burden of attending the meetings is reasonably distributed among all of the physicians in the group
  • Collaborate and manage APPs

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
