Position Summary

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for the continuous improvement of LTE RAN network performance by evaluating and trending key performance indicators and performance trials. Responsible for troubleshooting and issue resolution in Samsung 4G and 5G products to ensure all issues during new site deployment or site swap are addressed in pre-defined SLAs. Responsible for troubleshooting and issue resolution in Samsung 4G and 5G products to ensure all customer tickets are addressed in pre-defined SLAs. Responsible for end-to-end performance assurance to ensure company's 4G and 5G products (DU, RU, CU, and AU) are fully compliant with customer's network design. Conduct trials and tune parameters to improve the overall network performance and propose optimized parameters and present to customers and other groups with detailed reports. Responsible for development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis, conduct deep-dive customer sessions on 4G/5G call-processing related features and air interface technologies. Responsible for leading all technical discussions on Samsung products/scheduler related features with several customer vertical organizations including 4G/5G RAN Development groups and RAN performance groups. Analyze and troubleshoot schedule related issues reported from customer labs, field sites, and production networks. Perform issue resolution in multi-vendor deployment across numerous interfaces, including Open CPRI (ORAN), S1-MME, S1-U and X2 IOT with incumbent EPC vendors. Conduct deep-dive customer sessions for RCA reviews. Collaborate with HQ development and other teams to ensure issue resolution, customer product requirements and/or performance compliance. Present technical and non-technical ideas in a logical, compelling manner in a written format and verbally in both small and large group settings. Responsible for leading all technical discussions on Samsung products/scheduler related features with several customer vertical organizations including 4G/5G RAN Development groups and RAN performance groups. Author technical proposals, technical research and white papers, Operator network design. Ensures that customer commitments are achieved according to plan. Works closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve network performance.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Networks, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, a related field, or foreign equivalent and 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or any engineering related job titles.

Applicants must have 5 years of experience in the following: (1) telecommunications engineering; (2) 4G/5G Call Processing including RRC, S1-MME, S1-U, X2, RLC, MAC, PHY protocols; (3) wireless technology & procedures including LTE/Volte and 5G; (4) 3GPP RAN product architecture, design, implementation and performance improvements (KPIs); (5) RF antenna technologies & network optimizations; (6) Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, and 5G Numerologies; and (7) system engineering activities including feature requirements identification, feature description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, and problem troubleshooting. 10% domestic travel required for product rollouts, team meetings, and customer meetings.
