Permanent Multi Engine Instructor information

What is a permanent multi engine instructor?

Permanent Multi Engine Instructors are certified flight instructors who specialize in teaching pilots how to operate aircraft with more than one engine. These instructors hold advanced ratings, such as a multi-engine instructor rating, and are often employed by flight schools or training organizations on a full-time, ongoing basis. Their responsibilities include teaching ground and flight lessons, preparing students for multi-engine checkrides, and ensuring safety standards are met during training. They play a crucial role in helping aspiring commercial and airline pilots gain the skills and experience needed to safely operate complex, multi-engine aircraft.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a permanent multi engine instructor?

To thrive as a Permanent Multi Engine Instructor, you need advanced piloting skills, a multi-engine instructor rating, and significant flight experience with multi-engine aircraft. Familiarity with flight simulators, aviation training software, and FAA regulations is typically required, along with relevant certifications like CFI-MEI. Strong communication, patience, and instructional abilities help you effectively teach complex concepts and ensure student safety. These skills are crucial for developing competent pilots, maintaining high training standards, and ensuring flight safety.

What are some common challenges faced by permanent multi engine instructors, and how can they be managed?

Permanent Multi Engine Instructors often encounter challenges such as adapting instruction to students with varying experience levels, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, and staying current with evolving aviation regulations and technologies. Managing these challenges requires strong communication skills, continuous professional development, and close collaboration with other instructors and maintenance teams. Building a supportive learning environment and regularly debriefing with students can also help address learning gaps and promote safety.

Job description

A core tenet of our growth strategy leverages deep alliances with leading management consulting firms, who deploy our technology on their most demanding client engagements across practices, industries, and global locations.
We are hiring a Partner Manager to own the day-to-day engine of our flagship alliance. This is a single-partner role by design: you go deep, becoming the strategic, operational, and delivery backbone of the alliance as we grow it across the partner's global footprint.
You will build platform assets, custom artifacts, and client-specific deliverables that win and grow engagements, working closely with the Head of Alliances. Your support and work will directly fuel new business growth.
It is a hands-on, high-craft, high-visibility role: tactical in daily execution and strategic in its impact.
What You'll Own
  • Build the work that wins. Architect and build platform deliverables such as agents (interactive analytical canvases), workflows, and demos that showcase a coherent strategic narrative. Elicit and derive the core problem statement, then source and structure the underlying research to produce client-ready walkthroughs. This is the cornerstone of the role.
  • Drive the pre-sales and delivery motion. Partner with internal Growth Signals and alliance teams through the engagement lifecycle: scoping, demo prep, live working sessions, and client presentations.
  • Own follow-up and follow-through. Track deals in our CRM, deliverables, timelines, and commitments end to end, ensuring nothing slips. Follow up until you have a binary (Yes/No) response.
  • Translate between worlds. Synthesize inputs from internal Product, Engineering, and Data Science & AI teams into clear, partner-ready communication, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Close the feedback loop. Gather partner feedback and translate it into platform feature recommendations and rapidly address issues and queries to unblock client delivery.
  • Become an independent platform operator. Build mastery in the platform and in context engineering, to eventually own deliverable production and presentation independently.
  • Develop assets and playbooks. Build collateral, tutorials, and a library of reusable assets such as training videos that democratize access to the platform, and turn lessons learned across engagements into scalable, repeatable playbooks and best practices.
  • Drive trainings and support major events. Independently run trainings and brainstorming sessions with alliance account teams and support major events the alliance plans across geographies - actively driving planning, logistics, and execution.

Required Qualifications
  • 4-7+ years in a high-tempo, deadline-driven environment: Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Private Equity, VC, Corporate Strategy/Development, Enterprise Product, Pre-Sales, or a comparable startup operating role.
  • A track record of producing senior-executive-audience deliverables (decks, models, briefs) under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesize multi-stakeholder input into concise, leadership-ready output.
  • Strong analytical and structured-problem-solving skills, and fluency in the language and methods alliance partners expect.
  • Strong organization and ownership across multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines.
  • Aptitude and appetite to enhance your context-engineering skills and become an independent builder on an AI-driven platform.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with senior external stakeholders and internal leadership.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, as certain client engagements require it.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior startup or founder experience, a real differentiator. If you've lived the high-growth or early-stage life, the pace of this role will feel familiar. This is one of the strongest signals we look for.
  • An MBA from a leading program is strongly preferred, though equivalent rigor from consulting, IB, PE/VC, or a top-tier startup is weighed comparably.
  • Experience in B2B, enterprise, or professional-services contexts working with strategic partners or sophisticated clients.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, platforms, and context engineering.
  • Comfort with data, research, strategic frameworks, modeling, and structured analysis as inputs to client-facing work.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, on short notice.

Additional Requirements
  • Location: Based in Chicago (U.S.), or willing to relocate.
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
