Job description

Title: Mechanical Test Engineer
Location: Northridge, CA (100% onsite)
Duration: 6 month contract, long-term/reoccurring extensions & conversion to FTE possible
Compensation: $80/hr - $90/hr
Work Requirements: Export Control Requirement - Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and assembly instructions for satellite subassemblies and mechanical integration.
  • Coordinate environmental testing, both in-house and with external test facilities.
  • Support mechanical integration, assembly, and troubleshooting of aerospace hardware.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test teams to meet project milestones and improve processes.


Core Requirements

  • 5+ years mechanical engineering/integration experience in aerospace or avionics
  • Proven experience writing test plans, test procedures, and assembly instructions for complex aerospace hardware
  • Hands-on familiarity with environmental qualification testing: thermal, vibration, shock
  • Experience with GSE/MGSE (Ground Support Equipment / Mechanical GSE) — supporting design, use, or maintenance
  • Solid grounding in mechanical assembly fundamentals: GD&T, torque specs, ESD procedures, tooling
 

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or Siemens Xpedition (XP)
  • Exposure to PLM/PDM, MRP, QMS, or configuration management tools
  • AS9100 familiarity
