Job description

Job Title: CNC Set Up / Operator

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Vertical Mill Machines
  • Ensure finished work meets specifications using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and micrometers.
  • Operate a sanding machine and cut materials using a saw.
  • Maintain organization of materials and identify any defects or deficiencies.
  • Review blueprints, machining sequences, and dimensions.
  • Possess general knowledge of G&M Code.
  • Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work.
  • Multi-task and prioritize projects independently.
  • Advise supervisor of any issues that arise.
  • Perform offset changes and cutter compensation.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of CNC experience.
  • Ability to work independently on a 3rd shift with little to no supervision.
  • Capability to perform full setups with machinery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with mills and lathes.
  • Proficiency as a CNC Machinist and Set-up.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Preferred Skills Knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining materials. Experience in a tool room environment is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Lift and move up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach. Work Environment Manufacturing and machine shop environment. Exposure to machine noise, metal shavings, lubricants, and moving machinery. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
