Job Summary
The Assistant Produce Manager supports the overall operation of the produce department, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and consistent execution of company standards. This role assists in supervising department staff, maintaining product freshness, and supporting daily operations to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotation
  • Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
  • Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards
  • Assist with merchandising, signage, and product displays to maintain an organized and appealing department
  • Support receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies and regulations
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations
  • Strong understanding of product handling, rotation, and stock management
  • Ability to identify product quality issues and maintain freshness standards
