Job Description
SUMMARY:Process development and validation through PPAP and mass production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leadership of the Engineering Department
• Launch new programs, develop and validate processes through PPAP and mass production.
• Provide technical support & expertise to customer engineering community.
• Interface with customer quality representatives and participate in root cause problem analysis and related corrective action.
• Recruit, train and mentor new engineering and tool room talent
• Oversee tool room process flow to ensure integrity of tool maintenance process and available inventory of perishable tooling components.
Continuous Improvement
• Drive and nurture a plant wide culture of continuous improvement
• Assist team leaders and members in evaluating and implementing continual improvement
• Track completion and results of projects
Contract Review
• Validate feasibility of new opportunities with cross functional sales groupCapital budget projects
• Engineering department will lead capital budget projects / participate in annual business planning.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Manufacturing Engineers and dotted line with Application Engineers
Qualifications
• University degree in Engineering (PEng) or Engineering Tech Certificate (CET) preferred or equivalent experience in a metal stamping environment.
• 3-4 year's experience at a Supervisory level within an engineering or production department environment of a stamping operation.
• Experience using computer engineering applications (Autocad, Solidworks, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience with formal documentation systems and methods particularly ISO/TS16949
• Other computer skills (MS Office, project)
Reasoning Ability
• Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of multifaceted instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.

• Be able to acquire and analyze data using statistical methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements
• Demonstrate departmental sustainability to adherence of set policies and procedures
