Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Periscope, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and directing effective physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and enhancing muscular function tailored to each client's capabilities.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of clientsโ€™ functional abilities through diagnostic testing and assessing their home environments to maximize independence.
  • Leading and supervising physical therapy assistants in implementing prescribed treatment regimens, ensuring adherence to established care plans.
  • Administering manual therapies, therapeutic exercises, and various modalities such as traction and massage, while also educating and motivating clients through non-manual exercises.
  • Making adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary and collaborating with physicians to optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Maintaining meticulous clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, while participating in care plan reviews.

  • Providing guidance to clients and their families on the use of therapy devices and educating them on the totality of their therapy program.
  • Ensuring compliance with state law regarding supervision of physical therapy assistants and delegating tasks judiciously.
