Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Periscope Physical Therapy, your role will involve numerous responsibilities that directly support the client's rehabilitation journey. These include:

  • Directing individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at relieving pain, enhancing mobility, and preventing disability in accordance with established care guidelines.
  • Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of treatment plans and exercises tailored to each client's needs.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of client capabilities using diagnostic tests and functional assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Adapting treatment plans based on evolving patient conditions and progress, while consistently engaging with the healthcare team for comprehensive patient care.
  • Providing hands-on therapy, including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and use of physical agents, to facilitate recovery.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate clinical documentation including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries as per regulatory standards.
  • Actively participating in team meetings to collaboratively plan and review patient progress and adjust care strategies as needed.
  • Educating clients and families on therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and the usage of any assistive devices or equipment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will cater to a diverse population of clients, including those recovering from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Our focus is to empower clients ranging from young athletes to senior adults, ensuring each individual receives personalized care that aligns with their unique rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • Current valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining high clinical standards.
Preferred Experience

While two years of clinical experience is preferred, candidates demonstrating strong fundamental skills and a passion for patient care may also be considered. Experience in outpatient or home healthcare settings will be an added advantage.
