Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Periscope Physical Therapy, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs to develop tailored physical therapy treatment plans aimed at improving functional abilities and alleviating pain.
  • Overseeing the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure they implement the care plan effectively and according to best practices.
  • Conducting diagnostic evaluations, including tests on muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities to determine rehabilitation goals.
  • Delivering therapeutic exercises and manual techniques tailored to individual patient needs, alongside instructing clients in non-manual therapy exercises.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to create and modify personalized care plans based on patient progress and needs.
  • Keeping detailed, up-to-date clinical records including evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and care plans necessary for patient monitoring.
  • Engaging with patients and families to provide education about therapy programs and assistive devices, ensuring they understand usage and care.
  • Actively participating in clinical meetings to share insights and updates on patient care and outcomes, promoting a team-focused approach to rehabilitation.
  • Maintaining compliance with all state regulations and professional standards while administrative tasks such as timely documentation and billing.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse range of patients in our rehabilitation facility, including individuals recovering from surgical procedures, sports-related injuries, chronic pain issues, and neurological conditions. Our patient-centered approach emphasizes building therapeutic relationships that prioritize the unique physical and emotional needs of each client, ensuring they receive tailored interventions that enhance their independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with commitment to clinical excellence and quality patient care.
Preferred Experience

Applicants with the following experience will be highly regarded:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a practicing Physical Therapist, preferably in an acute care or home care environment.
