RN - Operating Room (OR)
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients by assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment.
  • Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative period.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
  • Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of Operating Room/Circulating RN experience preferred.
