Clinical Nurse Educator - Medical-Surgical / Perioperative Nursing
Full Time: 4 days a week/ 10 hr. shift
Department: Professional Development & Organizational Learning
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 402 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center . We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, undeserved patients and residents in Queens.
We are currently seeking (3) Nurse Educators / Education Specialist for our Professional Development & Organizational Learning Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provision of educational and development training services to enhance specialized patient care within established clinical protocols.
Collaboration with patient care staff and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.
Initiation of clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models
Implementation of educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
Serve as a clinical resource for unit management and team members to ensure quality patient care.
Educate team members in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops.

Requirements
  • Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Current BLS / ACLS certification. Master's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, or Informatics
  • 5 YEARS NURSING CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING SPECILAITY: Med/surg Perioperative Services
  • Minimum 1-2 years prior experience as Nurse Educator or Education Specialist
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and EMR, EPIC desired.
  • Excellent classroom presentation/platform, communications and interpersonal skills
