Location: Rochester, New York
Pay Rate: $100.00–$110.00/hr

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurse First Assistants for urgent Cardiac OR contract opportunities in Rochester, New York. This role requires strong surgical first assist experience, cardiac operating room expertise, and the ability to support complex cardiac procedures in a high-acuity surgical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first assistant support during cardiac surgical procedures

  • Assist surgeons with exposure, retraction, suturing, and procedural support

  • Maintain sterile technique and follow OR safety protocols

  • Support patient positioning, prepping, and intraoperative care needs

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, scrub staff, and circulating nurses

  • Anticipate surgical team needs and respond quickly during procedures

  • Maintain accurate perioperative documentation as required

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license required

  • RNFA certification or documented RNFA qualification required

  • Strong Cardiac OR experience required

  • Prior experience assisting with cardiac surgical procedures required

  • Current BLS certification required

  • ACLS preferred

  • Must be able to work primarily weekday schedule

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills required
