Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Shifts Available:
  • Mon - Weds (6:00am - 6:30pm)
  • Mon - Weds (6:00pm - 6:30am) + 10% Shift Differential
  • Thurs - Sat (6:00am - 6:30pm) + 10% Shift Differential
  • Thurs - Sat (6:00pm - 6:30am) + 15% Shift Differential

Location/Division Specific Information: The Cincinnati, OH site is a Center of Excellence for specialized oral solid dose manufacturing and drug development within the Pharma Services Group (PSG).
How Will You Make an Impact?:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and assisting with packaging equipment setup and startup while keeping safety and quality at the forefront of everything they do. Assist with ensuring the packaging line is performing at an acceptable production rate, GMP documentation, in-process testing, breakdown investigations, and repairs related to packaging production.


A Day in the Life:

  • Perform packaging line operations, including operating/monitoring equipment, in-process testing, filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, palletizing, equipment setup/cleanup, hopper filling, hand cartoning or packing, and other duties as required

  • Observe packaging equipment in operation and follow troubleshooting practices, based on training, to continuously improve and optimize performance

  • Operate, recognize, and remedy quality problems, and perform changeovers and cleanups as required to maintain patient safety and uphold cGMP standards


Requirements:
Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Experience:

  • Required: No previous work experience required

  • Preferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field

  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

  • Preferred: Experience in pharmaceutical production and/or packaging

  • Preferred: Mechanical aptitude/proficiency


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing equipment

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others in a team setting

  • Ability to read work instructions and procedures/manuals/diagrams


Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Operate a walk behind forklift (walkie stacker)

  • Position requires wearing personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, various styles of dust masks or respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, and scrubs or modified gowning

  • Ability to hand scoop 5 lbs. intermittently throughout the workday

  • Ability to manipulate/handle drums weighing up to 60kg and lift containers and/or tooling weighing up to 20kg intermittently throughout the workday
