Location: Huntsville, AL

Contact: RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, deploy, test, and certify data backup systems and all associated features, components, and application dependencies including SAN, NAS, Tape, local disk, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, etc.
• Design, implement, and support backup infrastructure for both bare-metal and virtual machines, using OEM and third-party tools on Linux and Windows environments.
• Provision and configure backups for Linux and Windows servers, ensuring security and redundancy strategies are maintained.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve backup issues; create recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks; and configure alerts for proactive response.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain system management tools, SAN and Tape infrastructure, and server plugins with the latest hardware and software updates.
• Ensure high system and infrastructure availability, verify data replication, failover copies, and redundant data sets.
• Assess application performance, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers to implement improvements.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and automate monitoring tasks, including IaaS backup storage management.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems and provide third-level support.
• Liaise with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution and ensure technical documentation is current, including inventory, patch levels, system configurations, and security details.
• Integrate systems with Windows and Linux environments, ensuring core service dependencies are maintained.
• Continually transition knowledge to government staff through training and best practices.
• Provide real-time reporting on backup storage, resource utilization, and performance metrics. REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of six years’ experience with NetBackup and IBM Spectrum Protect Suite.
• Top Secret security clearance and willingness to undergo CI Polygraph.
• Experience with Cohesity preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
