Job Description

Summary: This individual is needed to support production within projects as well as day to day support. There will be multiple projects within multiple lines of business.
Ideal Candidate:
This individual needs to be flexible with the testing calendar (they will need to work off hours, nights, weekend, weekend nights). They must be able to manage their time efficiently in managing, planning (project interface w/ personnel) and performance test script creation. They must also be able to utilize Load Runner. They are really looking for someone to add value to projects through testing tasks. They will be identifying issues and looking for resolutions. They need to also communicate the outcomes of the performance tests they are assigned too. Must also be able to analyze test results. Not really looking for management experience, but someone that has good sound experience listed. The ideal candidate will have good tenure and career progression.

Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of performance related tests for web and client-server applications.
Manage multiple projects at the same time.
Work with client teams to determine testing requirements, create test plans, coordinate testing support, execute tests, and report results.
Create and modify automated test scripts using single/multiple protocols supported within test tools.
Determine test data needs.
Setup of test scenarios to match requirements based on client test needs.
Execute tests on performance specific tools such as: Load Runner/Performance Center & Quick Test Pro.
Analyze test results and identify possible performance related issues.
Write clear and concise performance reports and review them with clients.
Maintain flexible work schedules driven by test environment availability.
Provide ad-hoc performance testing/load generation for support of client side development tasks.
Provide performance tests to clients including but not limited to load tests, soak tests, stress tests, volume/capacity tests, and failover tests.

Team Culture & Success Profile:

The team is very flexible with scheduling around the testing times. Because they will need to work off hours at times, the hours per day will differ depending on the schedule.
The successful candidate will have skills beyond performance testing; they will really understand the architecture, the components, and adding value in making suggestions on how the project teams can improve.

Qualifications

Top Technical Must Have Skills:
7+ years performance testing related experience required
Proven hands on experience in testing for web & client-server applications.
Proven hands on scripting experience in Web Services, Citrix, Oracle 2-Tier, & Web HTTP
Advanced knowledge of Load Runner & Performance Center
Experience in test planning and interfacing with development, architecture, and business teams.
Top Technical Nice to Have Skills:
RTE TN3270, Oracle 2-Tier, SQL, AJAX, JAVA Script, JAVA User, ODBC, and ODBC protocols.
Working knowledge of Quality Center
Knowledge of Quick Test Pro
Application/utilities development experience a plus.
Financial/banking experience will be a strongly preferred 'nice to have'

Soft Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to analyze test results and communicate them in a meaningful way to technical as well as non-technical audiences
Excellent teamwork skills
