Job description

Who Are We:

Fleece Performance Engineering is a leading manufacturer of after-market diesel performance products. With a reputation for innovation, quality, and service, our high-performance products push the limits of diesel performance technology. We are seeking motivated individuals who thrive in a rapidly expanding business environment.

The Perks:
  • Paid Time Off, Holidays, and Health Benefits (Medical, Vision, Dental, Life)
  • 401(k) with Employer Match and Disability Coverage
  • Discretionary Bonus Opportunities
  • OnSite Gym, Training, and Other Perks
  • The Role:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will bridge the gap between design and shop-floor execution, ensuring fleece products are efficiently onboarded into production. You are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes to maximize quality and cost-effectiveness using Lean and Six Sigma tools. By utilizing frameworks like data-driven improvement cycles (DMAIC) for continuous improvement and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) to proactively prevent defects, you will drive operational excellence through technical documentation, ROI-based equipment evaluations, and data-driven root cause analysis.

    What You’ll Do:
  • Process Design & Optimization: Develop and improve manufacturing sequences, layout, tooling, and workstations using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed Work Instructions (WIs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • New Product Development: Collaborate with engineering to ensure new designs are manufacturable and lead the transition from prototype to production.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Utilize tools such as the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to understand root causes and eliminate recurring production bottlenecks.
  • Capital Projects: Evaluate new equipment purchases and recommend them to management based on ROI calculations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead crossfunctional teams using formal problemsolving methodologies, including DMAIC for complex problems and PDCA for rapid process improvements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Always represents the company in a professional manner
  • What It Takes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Strong command of AutoCAD, Inventor, or SketchUp
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, NetSuite Preferred.
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • A "handson" approach with the ability to communicate effectively with both executive leadership and operators.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, meet production deadlines, and take initiative in completing tasks and solving problems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive attitude, commitment to safety (including required PPE), and ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace.
