Are you a skilled carpenter with a passion for remodeling and design? Jerry Harris Remodeling is seeking a talented Carpenter - Residential Remodeling to join our trusted team. With over 35 years of excellence in South Hampton Roads, we pride ourselves on our customer service, strong work ethic, and innovative design solutions. As a Remodeling Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in transforming homes, creating beautiful and functional spaces for our clients.

Jerry Harris Remodeling is a full-service design-build remodeler specializing in additions, kitchens, bathrooms, whole house remodeling, exterior remodeling, and accessible remodeling. Since 1985, we have been serving South Hampton Roads, including Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Smithfield, and Carrollton. With a trusted team of long-time members, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality remodeling services driven by customer satisfaction and a strong work ethic. Our focus on modern design trends, custom systems, and structured processes ensures that we consistently deliver beautiful, functional projects

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform carpentry work for various remodeling projects, including additions, kitchens, bathrooms, whole house remodeling, exterior remodeling, and accessible remodeling.
  • Collaborate with the Project Managers to ensure projects meet design specifications and client expectations.
  • Execute framing, installation of trim, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and managed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Participate in our in-house training program to continuously develop and refine carpentry skills.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior team members, and supporting a collaborative work culture.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Must have 3+ years experience in carpentry, including remodeling.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in carpentry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Computer and building software experience is preferred.
  • Commitment to high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background clearance.
