Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Skilled Laborer to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Skilled Laborer performs a wide range of tasks which include organizing, cleaning, retrieving, fire watching, and assignments instructed by supervisors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Position may performa large rangeof manual activities including but not limited to moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, and any other work instructed by a supervisor or a journeyman.
  • Use fireextinguisher.
  • Climb on to structures and Scaffolding.
  • Uses rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls and come along to move equipment / materials into place.
  • Runs errands tosupportthe work site.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance such as lubrication and fixing or repairing worn parts.
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.
  • Followdirectionsfromsupervisor.
  • Cleans tools, equipment, material, and work areas.
  • Stocksdrinking water containers for the construction site personnel.
  • Spend time onjoband can be transferred to another jobasprojectprogresses.
  • Maybe assigned hole watch and/orFirewatchduties.
  • Digs, spreads,levelsdirt and gravel, to fine grade specifications using hand tools.
  • Spend time on job and can be transferred to another job as project progresses.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Related trade school education is preferred.
  • Four years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain site & Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train in proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
