Summary
Grow your career while helping shape the future of animal nutrition across the Upper Midwest. As a Territory Manager, you will build trusted partnerships with dairy producers, key influencers, and customers by delivering innovative nutrition solutions that drive success for their operations. You'll combine your sales expertise, industry knowledge, and consultative approach to growing market share, identify new business opportunities, and provide exceptional customer support. Working alongside a collaborative team of technical experts and sales professionals, you'll have the opportunity to influence product innovation, strengthen customer relationships, and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, agriculture-focused environment. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales professional who thrives in the field, enjoys solving customer challenges, and is passionate about delivering results.
The salary range for this position is $89,000 - 133,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term marketing strategies, plans, and programs for clients, prospects, and key influencers to achieve gross margin goals for the assigned geography.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, expenses, and the sales process for each client and prospect.
  • Identify key influencers in the assigned geography and develop lasting, value-added relationships that improve sales volume within the territory.
  • Participate in new product development by providing market intelligence and sales solutions for products that may fit within the Perdue Agribusiness portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain an open and honest network with fellow team members throughout Perdue Agribusiness.
  • Ensure the safety of self and others.
  • Represent the company at public and professional functions within the assigned geography and in other parts of the United States as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agricultural Business/Economics, Animal Nutrition, Agriculture, or a related field; or 10+ years of territory sales experience selling similar products.
  • Understand the livestock feed industry, sales, and marketing, with an emphasis on dairy.
  • Understand the consultative sales process.
  • Understand dairy and poultry nutrition.
  • Understand standard software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented environment focused on customer service.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • 2 - 4 years of sales and territory management experience.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory and within the United States as needed.
  • Maintain a home office and internet connectivity to manage the assigned territory.
  • Complete overnight travel estimated at 25%-75%, depending on location within the geography.
  • Operate a motor vehicle and travel to and from customer locations.
  • Move freely about dairy farms, feed mills, and other agricultural environments.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, including rain, snow, humidity, noise, and temperatures ranging from approximately -15°F to 90°F.
  • Use electronic devices efficiently, including laptop computers, phones, tablets, and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
