- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with state standards for music education.
- Teach instrumental music with an emphasis on music reading, expression, and quality tone development.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including demonstrations, recordings, technology, and authentic resources.
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support musical understanding.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and administration to foster collaboration and support.
- Ability to create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
- Effective classroom management strategies tailored to upper-elementary learners.
- Consistent and age-appropriate discipline practices that promote respect and responsibility.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and the department chair to develop musicianship, fill instrumental needs, and align curriculum.
