School Social Worker Endorsement Required
   Effective 2026-2027 School Year
 



Qualifications:                        Valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with endorsement as Social Worker
Reports To:                             Building Administrators
Evaluation:                              As defined by PERA requirements
Work Calendar:                       Full-Time employment of 180 days or as determined contractually
Position Goal:                         The Social Worker will provide both direct and consultative support to students requiring social work support and work cooperatively with school personnel in the                                                                      identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs
Rate of Pay/Benefits:             See attached salary schedule for the 2026-2027 school year as per the negotiated agreement. The position includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
Responsibilities:













  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Serve as consultant to educational staff
  • Function as Student Support Team Coordinator
  • Participate in identification and diagnosis of student problems
  • Provide individual and group counseling in social, emotional and behavioral issues
  • Provide referrals and collaboration with community agencies
  • Assist in development of behavioral intervention plans
  • Conduct social developmental assessments
  • Function as liaison with school, home, hospital and social agencies
  • Advocate for needs of students and families
  • Supervise and train social work interns as needed
  • Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by School Principal
