Merge IT is an enterprise-level client seeking to add a System Engineer to their team in Gaffney, SC and Gastonia, NC. The role involves installing and configuring network devices, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring compliance with network policies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Install and configure routing and switching devices following change control process
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network related issues
• Monitor network performance proactively
• Verify and update network documentation
• Ensure network related policies and best practices are followed
• Engage with manufacturing areas to identify network requirements
• Understand security best practices and offer solutions to the stakeholders
• Test and upgrade network equipment to most recent stable version
• Liaison between IT/OT departments
• Gather communication requirements and translate to Firewall rule requests
• Closely working on network Information Security topics such as:
• Risk/Vulnerability/Asset Management
• Incident response/Backup & Recovery
• Change Management
Qualifications:
Required:
• CCNA certification or similar
• Deep understanding of the OSI model or TCP/IP stack
• Proven hands-on experience with Cisco gear (1+ years)
• Information Security knowledge
