WHAT WE NEED

Bopat Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Testing Technician II to join our growing Power Services Division. If you have experience testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or maintaining electrical power distribution systems and want to continue building your technical expertise, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Perform acceptance testing, maintenance testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate circuit breakers, switchgear, switchboards, transformers, protective devices, cables, grounding systems, automatic transfer switches, motor control equipment, and related electrical apparatus.
  • Perform insulation resistance, contact resistance, winding resistance, turns-ratio, secondary injection, and other electrical testing appropriate to your qualifications.
  • Assist with primary injection testing, relay testing, transformer testing, cable testing, power quality investigations, and system commissioning.
  • Read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Accurately document test results, equipment conditions, deficiencies, and field observations.
  • Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and company safety procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting, emergency response, and commissioning activities while working alongside experienced testing professionals.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • NETA Level II, NICET Electrical Power Testing Level II, or equivalent electrical power systems testing experience.
  • Two or more years of electrical testing, commissioning, power systems, or closely related field experience.
  • Experience working with low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
  • Ability to read one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and safe work practices.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as Megger, Doble, Omicron, Vanguard, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including occasional overnight travel.
