TOWER TECHNICIAN – Full-Time Position

Tower Systems is a family-operated business headquartered in Watertown, South Dakota, with a division in Orlando, Florida, and a satellite office. We have a global footprint and provide services wherever they are needed.

Salary: $24 - $27 per hour based on experience and practical tests

Job Summary

Tower Systems is actively hiring experienced Tower Technicians to perform all aspects of new construction, decoms, upgrades, co-locations, inspections, microwave, mapping, tower lighting, civils, and foundations. Installations and maintenance on all types of towers up to 800’ tall.

Qualifications

  • Strong character: motivated, dependable, honest, and safety-focused
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Proficiency with computers, office suites, data systems, and cameras — including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and printers.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, assembly drawings, and RF data sheets
  • Proficient in general industry knowledge, including rigging, knot tying, and signaling
  • Knowledge of equipment use; driving trucks with enclosed trailers. Boom trucks (CDL required), skid steer, mini-excavator, etc.
  • Knowledge of gin pole, winch, and capstan hoisting procedures
  • Physical stamina to climb towers and lift/pull/push up to 80 lbs
  • Ability to work 40–60 hours per week in all weather conditions
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, twist, and climb using both hands
  • Trade certifications are a plus
  • Six-week rotations with one week off between rotations
  • Willingness to travel extensively (passport recommended)
  • Clean driving record.
  • CDL license or crane certification is a plus
