Job description

What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Utility Design (Technical Manager II) to join our growing Salt Lake City (Midvale), UT office. The ideal candidate will be able to perform conventional and complex utility designs, utility coordination, and project specific communication.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead with gathering background information related to a project site which includes reviewing as-built plans and mapping existing utility service
  • Lead with the preparation of drawings such as those needed for highways, structures, and water/wastewater projects
  • Lead with quantities and project cost estimates
  • Coordinating with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
  • Lead with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
  • Lead with preparation for client and project meetings
  • Lead internal project meetings and participates as necessary
  • Occasionally visits project sites, and reports findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited University; Master's Degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Utah P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Expert with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines
Compensation:
 
The approximate compensation range for this position is 109,000-$160,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
