Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Respiratory Care Assistant, providing essential support in respiratory care services within a vibrant regional healthcare setting in the Southeastern United States. This per-diem role focuses on maintaining adequate supplies, managing medical gas tanks, and processing equipment to ensure smooth department operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory of supplies, medications, and medical gas tanks.
  • Collect and process used respiratory equipment.
  • Administer medications via nebulizer and assist with intermittent non-invasive patient care.
  • Support respiratory care without involvement in critical care or unstable patient management.
Education: Currently enrolled and in good standing in an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program. The educational institution must verify successful completion of competency evaluations aligned with respiratory care procedures.
Experience and Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Registration as a Respiratory Care Assistant with the relevant state board.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations while interacting professionally with patients, coworkers, and visitors.
  • Strong oral communication skills, manual dexterity for equipment operation, visual acuity, and physical stamina to stand, walk, position patients, and move heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to work in environments with potential exposure to blood and infectious materials.
