Job description

This is a fulltime job working 40 hours a week. No Per Diem and no relocation assistance.
Safety Technician
Responsibilities include executing the site safety program on an assigned project. Educates and trains Austin project staff in safety requirements, best practices in incident preventions. Ensures compliance with company and customer safety policies. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
  • Assist in creating accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents.
  • Assist in staff safety training and subcontractor development.
  • Represent company in a positive and professional manner with the customer and subcontractors.
  • Create and facilitate safety trainings and orientations aligned with project specifics and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's current safety manual, policies and expectations.
  • Majority of time spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners.
  • Help project supervision resolve safety problems and issues in the field.
  • May fill in for site HSE manager during absences.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education - OSHA 30
Experience - 3 to 5 years of experience in the industrial maintenance and construction industry.
Must pass medical and background check, as a condition of employment.
This is a fulltime job working 40 hours a week. No Per Diem and no relocation assistance.
