Overview

Over the past fifty years, Montefiore's Division of Services for Addiction has helped thousands of people enter recovery and re-join their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to help find meaning in their lives and integrate back into their communities.

The Per Diem Registered Nurse functions as part of the clinic leadership team, performs tasks and carries out responsibilities within the framework of health teaching, health counseling and supportive/restorative care. These duties are performed under the supervision of the Head Nurse/staff. The Per Diem Registered Nurse will be required to perform the duties listed below and other duties involving the same type, area, and degree of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Pursuant to objectives and policies of the Program, provides nursing care/activities as assigned by Head Nurse/designee, and in support of medical care as directed by the Physician.
  • Assume all responsibilities of RN/LPN as outlined in each job description.
  • Demonstrate accountability to care, plan, and coordinate to ensure that continuity is provided.
  • Dispense and administer prescribed medication and treatment and observe patients for any reaction to medication.
  • Record and report significant patient incidents/problems to Head Nurse Administrator, Chief Physician.
  • Knowledge of the principles of confidentiality of patient information.
  • Develop effective communications within the clinical units.
  • Conduct and participate in patient educational activities.
  • Maintain all pertinent clinical records.
  • May be assigned rotation to other program sites.
  • Clinic activities may vary depending on clinic needs and activities.

Requirements

  • Must have license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish helpful.
  • Associate Degree required, BSN Degree preferred.
  • Basic Life Support training.
  • Infection Control training.

This is a per diem, float position that will require flexibility to work at all Wellness Center location. When scheduled, the shift hours will be during the following times: 6:00am-2:30pm on weekdays and 6:30am-3:00pm on Saturdays. 

This is a 100% grant funded position.
