What You'll Do

Clinical Care

  • Provide comprehensive careincluding acute, chronic, and preventive visitsfor patients across the lifespan.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, STIs, mental health, gender-affirming care).
  • Perform in-office procedures when appropriate.
  • Order and interpret labs, diagnostics, and imaging; manage prescriptions; and complete documentation in accordance with Haven Health clinical protocols.
  • Provide same-day and weekend coverage for urgent patient needs when the core clinical team is unavailable.

Vacation & Leave Coverage

  • Step in as needed to cover for full-time providers during vacation, sick leave, and other planned or unplanned absences.
  • Maintain continuity of care by reviewing patient charts and handoff notes ahead of each covered shift.
  • Manage clinical inboxes, follow-ups, and messages across channels during coverage periods.

Product Launch & Virtual Care Experience

  • Serve as a founding clinical team member voice in the launch of Haven Health's new products, helping test and refine the end-to-end telehealth patient experience.
  • Provide clinical feedback on virtual intake, triage, and visit workflows as new features roll out.
  • Help identify where virtual care protocols need adjustment for quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
  • Support pilot programs and new service lines as Haven Health scales.

Collaboration & Culture

  • Work in close partnership with physicians and medical assistants to ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and affirming team culture.
  • Provide input into clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
Who You Are

  • PA-C with a current license in California.
  • Graduate of an accredited PA program; NCCPA certified.
  • Experience in treating LGBTQ+ patients.

  • Availability for weekend shifts and the flexibility to pick up coverage on relatively short notice.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and virtual care workflows.
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical judgment in a virtual/outpatient setting.
  • Commitment to confidentiality (HIPAA), safe prescribing, and regulatory compliance, including multi-state telehealth prescribing rules where applicable.

Strong Pluses (You'll thrive if you have these)

  • Experience with hormone therapy, sexual health, or transgender healthcare.
  • Prior experience in a startup, fast-scaling healthcare operation, or digital health product launch.
  • Comfort giving structured feedback on product and workflow design.
  • Experience with Elation or similar EHR platforms.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Mission Fit (We care deeply about aligning with people who)

  • Approach challenges with a fresh perspective and a growth mindsetseeking solutions rather than defaulting to no or that's how it's always been.
  • Value inclusion, accountability, and empathy in team leadership.
  • Embrace innovation; are excited to help pilot a new virtual care product and shape what per-diem, remote-friendly primary care can look like.
