Registered Nurse (RN) – PCA Instructor (Per Diem, Bilingual)

Flexible Schedule | Per Diem | One-Day Classes | No prior teaching experience required

Location: 260 Doughty Boulevard, Inwood, NY 11096

Pay: $55 -$60 per hour


Prior teaching experience is not required we provide training and support to prepare you to lead the class confidently and successfully.

Rockaway Home Care is a licensed home care agency in New York dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care by investing in the training and development of caregivers. We offer New York State approved Personal Care Aide (PCA) training classes and are currently seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Registered Nurse (RN) to lead as an Nurse Educator our one-day PCA training classes on a per-diem basis.


The RN Nurse Educator PCA Instructor is responsible for delivering state-approved PCA training through classroom instruction and hands-on skills demonstrations to be equipped as home care caregivers. The instructor ensures students understand required material and are prepared to meet New York State Department of Health standards.


Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (required)

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)

  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Teaching or training experience is a plus, but not required


Responsibilities

  • Teach New York State approved PCA curriculum during one-day training classes

  • Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on skills demonstrations

  • Demonstrate and oversee instruction in:

    • Personal care and hygiene

    • Infection control

    • Safety and body mechanics

    • Professional conduct in home care

  • Evaluate student understanding through quizzes, skills check-offs, and observation

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and required training documentation

  • Ensure compliance with NYS Department of Health guidelines

  • Create a supportive, respectful, and engaging learning environment

  • Communicate class completion and documentation needs with agency staff
