Per Diem Driver
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center - Jamaica, NY
Department: Transportation
Schedule: Per Diem (as needed; flexible availability required)
Pay Rate: $26.27 per hour
Position Summary
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Per Diem Driver to support our Transportation Department. The Driver is responsible for the safe, courteous, and timely transport of patients, staff, medical equipment, laboratory specimens, and interoffice mail between Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and MediSys locations.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring continuity of care and operational efficiency across our healthcare network.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate hospital vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and hospital policies.
  • Transport patients, staff, laboratory specimens, medical equipment, and mail between designated locations.
  • Ensure timely pickups and deliveries to support patient care and hospital operations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of equipment and materials as needed,
  • Maintain accurate trip logs and required documentation.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and report any mechanical issues or incidents immediately.
  • Provide professional, courteous service to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies
