They typically fill in for staff shortages, cover busy periods, or work extra shifts at healthcare facilities. This flexible arrangement allows LNAs to choose when and where they work, making it ideal for those seeking work-life balance or supplemental income. Per Diem LNAs perform the same duties as regular LNAs, such as assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting nursing staff.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a per diem LNA?

To thrive as a Per Diem Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), you need a state-approved LNA certification, a solid understanding of basic patient care, and reliable clinical skills. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), vital sign monitoring equipment, and facility-specific documentation systems is typically required. Strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to work independently make someone stand out in this flexible, on-call role. These skills are crucial for providing safe, high-quality patient care and ensuring seamless support in diverse healthcare settings.

What are the typical scheduling expectations and flexibility for a per diem LNA?

Per Diem Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) generally have flexible schedules, often filling in for staff during peak times, holidays, or unexpected absences. It's common for Per Diem LNAs to work in multiple units or facilities depending on staffing needs.
