Job Summary:

Performs x-ray procedures limited to certification scope. Applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis at the technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Certificate/Diploma from X-ray Technician school: Required in CA

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) Certificate: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Preferred
  • Venipuncture certification: Preferred
  • Limited Medical Radiology Tech (LMRT) or X-Ray Tech (Limited) (XRAY): Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

  • AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Prepares equipment for use as needed. Prepares examination rooms for patient exams. Positions patients for imaging exams. Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams. Performs diagnostic procedures to the required level of ability.
  • Produces diagnostic images. Documents exam information. Reports important information to the physician.
  • Verifies exams on PACS.
  • Maintains patient records as directed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
