Per Diem - Lab Technologist - Microbiology / Generalist
NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital is the singular source of care and caring for New Yorkers who live and work south of 14th Street. Situated at the crossroads of the world's financial epicenter and several diverse and historic communities, we provide world-class care with a patient-inspired community touch.
This position is needed to serve as a Microbiology / Generalist for the laboratories. The primary focus of the position would be to assist with Micro testing but also support with Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology testing as needed. Many of these test include critical values that need to be completed and reported in a timely manner for the safety of the patient. The role of this position will help with coverage for all Micro department testing, that includes molecular, serological, and bacteriology, as well as assist in other areas of the labs as needed.
This is a Per Diem position, primarily needed for Day shift coverage.
Preferred Criteria
  • 4 years' experience as a Laboratory Technologist or 2 years with a Master's degree
  • Prior experience in a hospital system
  • Leadership skills
  • Experience in Microbiology testing

Required Criteria
  • A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department
