Who you are:

As a Software Engineering Manager – Open Banking, you are our leader, ensuring your team has the necessary support and guidance to deliver top quality systems. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the entire development lifecycle for a team of software engineers. You will use your effective communication skills and analytical mindset to provide necessary expertise and direction to ensure all systems meet development standards. More than that, this role is about developing people and doing it with integrity, caring and excellence in mind.

What you’ll do:
  • Manage the entire development lifecycle for a team of software engineers with assigned programs and systems
  • Review coding for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business needs, change control procedures, and Frost development standards
  • Collaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design new systems based on business requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality
  • Exercise the usual authority of a manager
  • Provide strategic insights to IT management
  • Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes
What you’ll need:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions, typically requiring a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software
  • Proven people leadership, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery experience
  • Ability to drive the design and delivery of Java/Spring Boot microservices and API-first solutions
  • Ability to partner with Product, Architecture, and business stakeholders to execute technology roadmaps
  • Experience championing engineering excellence through Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, code quality, and observability
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native development
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, SQL/NoSQL, and event‑driven architectures
  • Experience with Observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or AppDynamics
  • Knowledge of Domain‑Driven Design (DDD)
  • Strong understanding of operational reliability, monitoring, and performance management
  • Experience with API lifecycle management, including design, security, governance, versioning, and monitoring
  • Additional Preferred Skills: Experience in Banking or Financial Services, payments, or regulated industries
  • Additional Preferred Skills: Experience with API Gateway platforms
  • Additional Preferred Skills: Familiarity with ERP ecosystems, enterprise data flows, and API‑based integrations
  • Additional Preferred Skills: Awareness of AI‑assisted software engineering
  • Additional Preferred Skills: Familiarity with LLM integration, AI APIs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI governance best practices.
