Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Under direction and guidance, develop, implement, and test designated high-volume, low-latency Java software for mission-critical systems requiring high-availability and performance. Work collaboratively and provide technical assistance and detailed program information to product managers, analysts, and support specialists.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields preferred.
One to three years of Java development teams experience required.
One to three years of experience with SQL (in code and on database), SQL concepts, and related databases required.
Knowledge of SCRUM/Kanban/Agile methodologies and frameworks preferred.
Knowledge of HTML, web controls, Java Script, JSON, XML, AJAX, and CSS preferred.
Experience with SQL: Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions preferred.
Knowledge of best practices/coding efficiencies and execution.
Experience with IntelliJ or other IDE experience preferred.
Knowledge of Spring Framework preferred.
Knowledge of Testing Automation preferred.
Experience with Unit Testing using testing frameworks (e.g. Junit) preferred.
Knowledge of APIs (SOAP or REST) and relevant components such as Postman to retrieve and process data preferred.
Experience with SourceControl (e.g. git) and code management techniques preferred.
Experience with build tools (e.g. Maven, Gradle) preferred.

Skills/Abilities
Ability to understand entire scope of complex computer software systems preferred.
Ability to express business and technical concepts, verbally and in writing required.
Proficiency with standard functions within applications such as Microsoft 365/Google, (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software), e-mail, web browsers, and databases.

PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES
Develop, implement, and maintain complex, Java-based software systems that contain business logic and database access.
Write well-documented Java and SQL code following company standards and guidelines.
Assist in evaluating software requirements related to new functionality needed by TCC users to identify required changes and enhancements to TCC software applications.
Test computer programs under all supported operating environments and browsers to produce error free programs that adhere to established programming and UI standards.
Meet established timelines in implementing program enhancements and modifications.
Read and understand state and federal mandates to ensure required changes to TCC software have been identified.
Provide technical assistance and support to Product Support Specialists to resolve user problems.
Write technical specifications and provide detailed information for the product support team and the documentation team for use in documentation and training materials.
Provide information as requested for special programming and technical services requests.
Work in an Agile/Scrum team environment with developers, analysts, documentation staff, and support specialists to meet project objectives and resolve problems.
